Pope Francis met Monday with the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan. The meeting was held in the Vatican, where they discussed INITIATIVES communication with a view to combating poverty in the world.

The Vatican made public the meeting through a statement and also informed that the meeting lasted 20 minutes in the Casa Santa Marta, the residence of the pontiff.

According to what they published “during the meeting, they talked about using communication technologies to alleviate poverty, stimulate the culture of the meeting and to convey a message of hope, especially to the poorest people.”

Later the same Zuckerberg unveiled details of the meeting through your Facebook account.

Accompanied by his wife, Zuckerberg is in Italy on the occasion of the wedding of some leaders of Facebook, which was held a few days ago.

In addition to the meeting with the Pope, later he held a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
