U.S. Democratic senators present law against the wall
The Senator from Nevada, Catherine Cortez Masto, together with 23 Democratic senators, presented Monday a Bill to suspend the Executive order of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, which promotes the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico, under the pretense of curb migration.
The draft law, which is highly unlikely to thrive in a Republican majority Congress, indicates that it is not necessary to the construction of a wall with Mexico and that the rush for the implementation of this infrastructure will be a waste of money.
> Government of Mexico fears US to separate migrant families “President Trump order is outrageous, anti-American and bad for safety”, said Cortez Masto, who considered the proposal of the Tycoon as a waste of money and a waste of time that could be devoted to “fix our broken immigration system”.
If this project is approved, its entry into force would be retroactive to January 25, day in which Trump signed the Executive order for the construction of the wall.
According to the Government Accounting Office, the total price of the wall with Mexico could rise to $ 21 billion.
