The President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, announced during a press conference which will issue a new security measure next week. The President did not offer details, but said that the purpose is to “protect” his country.
At the press conference, given from the White House, Trump said: “We will issue a new order the coming week that it will protect broadly to our country”. He added that the announcement of the new decree will be at the beginning or middle of next week.
On 27 January, Trump signed an executive order that suspended the acceptance of refugees program for 120 days and stopped issuing visas to citizens of the seven countries of the Middle East for 90 days. The measure was stopped by federal judge James Robart and later a panel of three judges upheld the blocking order.
Originally, President Trump announced that it would appeal block in the courts, but on Thursday the Justice Department clarified that the White House will not follow any legal options but that will use the new measure to replace which was blocked.
“The President will clear the way to immediately protect the country rather than go through with additional and potentially time-consuming litigation,” said the Department of Justice in documents presented to the Court in San Francisco.
