Neoguri typhoon leaves seven dead and 49 injured in Japan

Typhoon “Neoguri”, although its intensity dropped to a tropical storm by the time left seven dead and 49 injured in Japan and reached the main island of the country, Honshu, after passing through Kyushu (southwest), where authorities evacuated about 30,000 people.
Eight thousand people are disconnected from the power supply due to breakdowns and cuts produced in the power lines. Dozens of homes have been destroyed and more than 550 are flooded.
The core of the typhoon is over the sea near the southern islands of Japan, and moves to the northeast at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour, with maximum wind speeds of 50 meters per second.
The storm has accelerated its shift to about 40 mph, with winds up to 90 mph, and 18.00 local time (11.00 GMT) reached Wakayama prefecture (southeast of Honshu), according to the latest data from the meteorological agency .
“Neoguri”, the eighth typhoon of the season in the Pacific, made landfall in the vicinity of the town of Akune, Kagoshima prefecture, about 0700 local time (2200 GMT Wednesday), according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
