UN mediator runs out in Syrian conflict

Lakhdar Brahimi, the UN mediator and the Arab League in Syrian conflict, resigned, said Tuesday the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon. The UN negotiator was criticized many times by biased act during their work.
Brahimi will leave office on May 31, as announced by the UN Secretary to the press by the now exmediador at UN headquarters in New York.
Syria was accused last April 23 at the United Nations to hinder the negotiations between the Government and the opposition on a political war at home solution.
“The UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi and that is partial and not an honest broker, impeding the negotiations in Geneva in February,” said an official of the Syrian Foreign Ministry, quoted by state television.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and Brahimi, described as an “obstacle” to peace talks presidential elections to be held in Syria on coming June 3.
Syria has clarified that this call and the period for the registration of candidates conform to the Constitution and are subject to the will of the Syrian people who approved the Charter Magna.La decision to hold elections is a sovereign decision of Syria, so that the government rejects any foreign interference.
