Thousands of fans, friends, colleagues and collaborators of the Cuban musician and founder of the band Los Van Van, Juan Formell; Sunday attended the National Theater of Cuba to give a final goodbye to his ashes; after his death was confirmed on Thursday May 1.

Formell was born in Havana on August 2, 1942, had a successful career. He worked in various musical groups until the end of 1969 created the band Los Van Van, with which continued and expanded his creative work until his death.
In March 2010 received an honorary doctorate from the Higher Institute of Arts in recognition of his contributions to Cuban culture and in particular their work displayed in front of the orchestra leader of the popular dance music of Cuba, Los Van Van.
